Website renewal with continuity

Refresh your website while protecting what already works.

I audit what works, redesign what holds the site back and prepare a technically controlled migration.

How I prepare and review content

Changing the appearance is not enough

A website may look dated, be uncomfortable on mobile or describe a company that has changed. It may also contain pages that receive visits, external links, valuable documents and URLs clients have saved.

The goal is not to replace everything with a new home page. It is to understand which parts help the business, which create friction and how to carry what is useful into a clearer structure.

  • ProblemDesign, content and technology no longer represent the company well or make the site difficult to use.
  • RiskDeleting pages or changing addresses without reviewing existing signals.
  • OutcomeA current website with a documented transition and a more maintainable foundation.

What the audit reviews

Before proposing a design, I need to understand the real site map and the assets it depends on.

Content

  • Published pages, documents and images
  • Copy that remains accurate and useful
  • Services, teams or details that have changed

SEO

  • Indexed URLs and existing metadata
  • Queries and landing pages if data is available
  • Internal links, canonicals, sitemap and robots

Technical

  • Technology, hosting, domain and certificates
  • Performance, mobile adaptation and accessibility
  • Forms, analytics and active integrations

Operations

  • Who retains each access and ownership
  • How content is currently updated
  • What the team needs to maintain after the change

Preserve before changing

SEO signals move through a map

No migration is risk-free, but there is an orderly way to reduce avoidable errors and verify the outcome.

Dominio

Keep the primary address when it makes sense

A redesign does not require a domain change. Keeping it is usually the most stable option when it identifies the company well and access is under control.

URLs

Keep useful paths and map changes

Every old URL is compared with the new structure. If its destination changes, the relationship is documented and a redirect is considered.

Content

Edit with purpose, do not delete by default

Copy that answers questions or attracts searches can be reviewed and preserved. Outdated material is corrected, integrated or removed for a clear reason.

Launch

Check redirects, canonicals and indexing

Before and after the change, we review responses, links, the sitemap, robots, metadata and available crawl signals.

A scope that separates renewal and migration

Visual work is one part. Content, technology and a platform change may require different efforts.

  • DirectionGoals, audiences, information architecture and a visual system aligned with the current company.
  • ProductionResponsive design, development, editing of agreed content and adaptation of images and components.
  • MigrationURL inventory, required redirects and migration of agreed forms, measurement and integrations.
  • ControlTesting before the change, review of links and metadata, and initial monitoring of issues and indexing.

A process with checkpoints

You work directly with me and can see what is preserved, what changes and what we check at every stage.

Audit

I gather access, crawl the available website and prepare an inventory of content, URLs and dependencies.

Plan

We define the structure, design, content and migration map before replacing the current site.

Build

I develop the new website in a working environment and test devices, forms, metadata and links.

Migrate

We publish with agreed redirects and checks. Afterwards, I review issues and available indexing signals.

Cantoni Abogados website article section with structured legal content

A real case study showing the destination

Cantoni Abogados shows how a current corporate website can structure brand, practice areas, legal content and contact without losing restraint.

Its editorial section also illustrates an important point for any renewal: useful content is not decoration. It is part of the architecture and deserves an explicit decision during the change.

Close support while the website remains public

A renewal affects an asset the company already uses. I therefore explain dependencies, prepare the change and maintain direct communication throughout publication.

I can support companies in Vallès Occidental and Barcelona through local meetings, or coordinate the renewal remotely with marketing leads, management or technical providers.

Exact team size does not determine the method. What matters is identifying who approves content, controls access and will look after the website afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Questions before a refresh

Will I lose rankings when refreshing the website?

A poorly planned renewal can lose signals. We therefore inventory URLs, titles, useful content and links before changing anything, apply redirects where appropriate and review indexing after publication.

Does the domain need to change?

Usually not. If the domain identifies the company well and is under its control, keeping it avoids an unnecessary change. We consider another option only when there is a clear business or technical reason.

What happens to old URLs?

URLs that remain useful can be kept. When a page changes, is removed or merged into another, we define its destination and apply a permanent redirect where appropriate.

How is a website refresh budget calculated?

It depends on website size, current content quality, available access, technology, integrations and migration complexity. The initial audit allows scope to be tailored before quoting.

Refreshing also means knowing what not to touch.

Tell me about the website you have, what has changed in the company and what concerns you about the migration.
